Thanks for the post. Writing a bio can be intimidating! I would add that if it makes you uncomfortable to toot your own horn, get help from an expert. I found it invaluable to work with you to write my bio for my website and book Relationship Solutions.

I have also found it helpful to pay attention to what hosts say about you when you appear on a podcast or summit. Those tidbits give you a sense for what appeals to an audience that might not have been on your radar. You can use it to improve your bio next time around.

Great article, it says a lot of the things that make me laugh when I read badly planned author Bios. My favorite was one a bio for someone in the SEO field who kept going on about his love of cats. Completely irrelevant and makes you second guess why you are listening to them as an authority. I think your piece here ties nicely to a discussion on http://www.slinghotinternetmarketing.com because bios are actually rather important to SEO, especially when it comes to Google Authorship and My Business.
